Working Hours:
Normal working hours are 9am to 5:30pm, Mon-Fri. Out-of-hours work may be required from time to time as dictated by operational demand.

Main Purpose of the Role:

The Product Owner works in the Development Team, representing stakeholders, and is responsible for driving the product roadmap through prioritization and backlog maintenance. This vacancyis for a product owner to shape the development of our CPQ Applications and Services.

  • Apply business and product acumen to understand the business priorities of channelcentral and its customers.
  • Represent stakeholders (including customers) as the Product Owner on a hybrid Waterfall/Agile development team.
  • Provide vision and direction to the development team and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with Lead Developers to plan and maintain a prioritized and groomed product backlog.
  • Develop work breakdown structures by creating epics, user stories, and defining and testing acceptance criteria.
  • Play an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including but not limited to daily standup, planning, retrospective, show and tell.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases and help to roll-out product capabilities.
  • Share a clear vision and goal at the beginning of every release and sprint, drive and maintain this throughout delivery.
  • Create intuitive and engaging solutions, drive continuous improvement, flag innovation or changes that impact customer experience and generally push to ensure we are the best we can be in product delivery.
Experience and Attributes:
Ideally, the post holder will have a background in delivering Software as a Service, and proven experience of being a Product Owner (managing a Product lifecycle) in Waterfall and Agile environments.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following attributes and experience :

  • Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal skills.
  • Disciplined management ability: caring about process, quality, setting and managing expectations.
  • Good planning & organising skills.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • Demonstrable experience of engaging with and putting the customer first.
  • Excellent track record of translating and delivering clear detailed requirements (via User Stories) and supporting backlogs.
  • Proven ability to translate non-technical information into a technical level of detail that developers can work with.
